The Municipality of Querétaro has announced the opening of registrations for its municipal swimming academies, offering free classes to residents. Registrations will be available from January 30 until spots are full, with classes taking place from February until December 19, 2025.
One of the registration requirements is to be a resident of the municipality, complete a registration form and a liability waiver, as well as present copies of the CURP and a proof of residence. In February 2022, 245 women benefited from free swimming classes through the program "With Them We Make the Difference," aimed at improving their living conditions and enhancing skills.
To formalize the registration, it is necessary to go to the offices of the Sports Training Directorate at the Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez Sports Unit (Calle Sierra de Zimapán S/N, Centro) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Classes will be held in various municipal swimming pools, such as Nader at the Belén Sports Unit, Akua at the Paseos de San Miguel Sports Unit, and the San Pedro Mártir Sports Complex.
It is important to note that each family can register up to two people, and those participants with more than three absences in a 30-day period will be removed from the program. These sports and wellness initiatives are not new in the municipality.
