The municipality of Querétaro has announced the event "Women and Environment for Equity and Nature: Women Defending Water" to celebrate and recognize the role of women in the protection and conservation of the environment. In the framework of Women's Month, the Secretary of Environment, Guadalupe Espinosa, indicated that the scheduled activities include workshops, yoga classes, artistic exhibitions, keynote lectures, talks, and an outdoor market.
The official emphasized that the program's main focus is to establish a link between the environment and women, who throughout history have been fundamental guardians of natural resources. "The intention is to bring women closer to the role they have played concerning the environment and create spaces for them to express themselves," commented Espinosa de los Reyes.
The event will take place on Friday, March 14, at the Centro de las Artes de Querétaro, from 9 AM to 4 PM. More than 100 women are expected to participate, and besides being a celebration, it will serve as a platform to showcase various sustainable projects being promoted in the municipality.
In the words of Secretary Espinosa, "We want women to recognize themselves as active agents in the protection of the environment and to know that their contribution is essential to ensure a sustainable future."
