In the historic center of Querétaro, thousands of women gathered to demand justice for victims of violence and feminicide. The gathering started at the Alameda Hidalgo at 2 PM, where Valentina, a murder victim whose family has formed a collective to fight for justice and support those who have gone through similar situations, was remembered.
Special mention was made of Dulce, a survivor of an attempted feminicide, and Esmeralda, a teenager who faced criminal charges for abortion, who joined the march to commemorate International Women's Day. The demands during the protest ranged from the eradication of vicarious violence and sanctioning of child support debtors, to the call for legal and free abortion, sexual education, and fair attention to cases of violence, feminicide, and disappearances.
Diversity was notable in the participation, involving women of all ages and conditions, including girls, teenagers, seniors, indigenous artisans, and people with disabilities. At the end of the day, there were spaces for reflection, listening, and various cultural activities, performances, and musical presentations by artists such as Rebeca Lanne, Power Animala, and Laurent G Dj.
