The Autonomous University of Querétaro will host the Women IT edition 2025, a meeting of women specialists in information technologies that will take place on March 19 at the Faculty of Informatics, Juriquilla campus. The event aims to promote the visibility and participation of women in the field of Information Technologies, with the objective of disseminating the different areas of this academic discipline.
Members of the organizing committee, Sofía Rivera López, Gabriela Pacheco Sánchez, and Verónica López Martínez, highlighted the importance of fostering the inclusion of women in STEM professions, where the male presence is greater, reaching up to 70%. Women IT aims to break gender stereotypes in the field of IT and encourage the participation of women in these areas.
The event will combine in-person and virtual activities in a hybrid format, with an expected attendance of around 400 participants, mainly high school students and graduates who are about to finish their secondary education. It is estimated that online conferences will exceed 200 participants. Among the topics to be addressed are Data Science and Analytics, Telecommunications, Computing, IT Management, and Leadership.
Additionally, there will be graduate stands and participation from institutions such as the Center for Research in Applied Sciences and Advanced Technology of the National Polytechnic Institute (CICATA) and the Center for Research in Educational Technology (CITE) of the University. Admission to the event is free, but prior registration is required through the official website.
