The false surgeon Rodrigo Aguilar, known as 'Dr. RAQ', was sent to the CERESO of San José El Alto, in the capital of Querétaro, where he will await the resolution of his legal situation and the investigation of any related cases. The Attorney General's Office of Querétaro issued an alert to the public about false surgeons and recommended verifying the certification of doctors performing plastic surgeries.
Rodrigo 'N', who pretended to be 'Dr. RAQ', was the president of the College of Aesthetic Surgery of the State of Querétaro and used to warn about 'fake' clinics in the region. Despite promoting safety in aesthetic procedures, it was discovered that he did not possess the specialty or the proper certification to practice as a plastic surgeon, which led to his detention. He was accused of usurpation of professions and was imposed justified preventive detention.
The false 'Dr. RAQ' advertised himself as a plastic surgeon on social media and even operated on celebrities like Karla Sofía Gascón, Ninel Conde, and Lyn May. However, his detention revealed that he lacked the necessary accreditation to carry out such interventions. Rodrigo 'N' also served as a judge in beauty and modeling contests, increasing the seriousness of his deception by posing as a qualified professional.
The capture of 'Dr. RAQ' was made possible thanks to a complaint from a person who suffered complications after a plastic surgery performed by him, leading her to require hospitalization and another surgical intervention to save her life. Following a search warrant executed at his clinic, documents, university degrees, surgical equipment, electronic devices, and clinical records of patients operated on by the false surgeon were secured, which will serve as evidence against him.
At the initial hearing, it was determined that there is sufficient evidence to accuse 'Dr. RAQ' of usurpation of professions, as he performed surgical procedures typical of a specialized surgeon without the corresponding certification. His linkage to the process and the preventive detention are part of the legal actions against him for violating the General Health Law by practicing plastic surgery without the appropriate permits and knowledge.
