The rector of UAQ presented her annual report highlighting 88 alliances, health care for more than 2,700 people, and improvements in infrastructure. She announced future projects and a salary increase for faculty.


UAQ Report on Activities of the Rector

The rector of the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), Silvia Amaya, presented her first activity report at the head of the institution, highlighting various actions in areas such as innovation, infrastructure, social responsibility, and educational quality in the 18 municipalities of the state. During her administration, seven new programs were created, and five master's degrees were restructured, as well as improvements made to programs in faculties such as Natural Sciences, Nursing, Engineering, Chemistry, and Computer Science.

In the health field, Amaya Llano mentioned that the University Health and Wellness Services Directorate attended to 2,748 people through preventive campaigns. Regarding graduates, she noted that in 2024, 9,961 students graduated, and the dropout rate was below the national average, representing 3% of the high school and undergraduate enrollment.

Regarding the teaching staff, she emphasized that 100% of full-time professors have a postgraduate degree, and 87% hold a doctorate. Additionally, she announced the future provision of health services for workers in El Marqués through University Clinics. Regarding research, 15 million pesos were allocated for 139 initiatives at UAQ, supported by external funding.

Amaya also shared that during her administration, 88 partnerships in outreach were formalized, with the participation of 4,274 students in social impact activities benefiting more than 7,000 people in the region. In mobility, four new buses were added for the transportation of students and administrative staff between campuses. An agreement was signed with the State Commission of Waters to cover past debts and regularize water supply.

In a final statement, the rector emphasized the approval of the 2024 Austerity and Savings Plan by the University Council, aimed at optimizing the institution's resources. She also highlighted increases in the number of teachers recognized nationally and a comprehensive salary increase of 4.8% for university workers.
