The Secretariat of Social Development of the state of Querétaro aims to deliver a total of 40 thousand "Salud Contigo" cards for the year 2024. So far, around 40 thousand people have registered in the program, but only 25 thousand cards have been distributed. The head of the department, Luis Nava, mentioned that they are working to complete the delivery of the remaining 15 thousand cards, especially in the mountainous area.
In January of this year, the state government launched the "Salud Contigo" card to guarantee the population access to free health services provided by the state. According to the Secretariat of Health, almost half of the population in Querétaro does not have medical insurance from IMSS or ISSSTE, highlighting the importance of this program.
Luis Nava Guerrero informed that during this year, 25 thousand "Salud Contigo" cards have been delivered, allocating the same number to women in vulnerable situations. These women receive bimonthly support of 1,500 pesos as part of this initiative. The official stated that they expect to complete the 40 thousand cards planned for 2024 and continue with the enrollment process over time.
