Mexico's Education System Ready for Migrant Children

Mexico is prepared to welcome the children of migrants who are deported or return to the country, assured the Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado Carrillo. During his visit to Querétaro, he highlighted that the Mexican educational system has the necessary capacity to integrate these students immediately, regardless of their immigration status.

"We welcome them in schools at the appropriate level and then we regularize them. Although there may be differences in educational levels, mastery of the Spanish language, or lack of documentation, we are committed to helping resolve those issues during their stay in the country," explained Delgado Carrillo.

The secretary emphasized that the doors of schools will be open to all students, even in areas with high rates of migration, and that no one will be turned away. Although there is no exact estimate of the number of people who might return, necessary measures will be taken in each case to ensure the education of minors.

Delgado Carrillo reiterated that the lack of places will not be a problem and that access to education will be guaranteed for all compatriots returning to Mexico. "They arrive at school and there we will help them regularize their status," he affirmed, highlighting the Mexican educational system's commitment to providing opportunities for students in any immigration situation.
