The state government of Querétaro carried out the delivery of 63 new patrol cars and police equipment for 10 municipal corporations and the State Police, with an investment of 123 million pesos from federal and state resources. The police of Amealco, Cadereyta, Colón, Corregidora, Ezequiel Montes, Huimilpan, Pedro Escobedo, San Juan del Río, Tequisquiapan, and Tolimín received a total of 47 patrol cars, in addition to portable recording equipment and uniforms; while the State Police received 16 new units.
During these deliveries, Governor Mauricio Kuri and Secretary of Citizen Security, Iován Pérez Hernández, highlighted the importance of strengthening security in the municipalities, with greater police coverage and presence, inter-institutional coordination, and rapid responses to citizen complaints. Kuri emphasized that the new vehicle fleet will help maintain the peace and tranquility of Querétaro families, while Pérez Hernández urged police officers to make the most of the units and uniforms to ensure safety on the streets.
In his words, the governor mentioned: "It is a responsibility that we assume from the necessary collaboration between the state and the municipalities, forming a solid dam, adding the active participation of citizens, ensuring the rule of law, ensuring the proper application of resources, as well as strengthening the work of our police and together maintaining order and social peace."
This investment in police equipment translates into a significant increase in response and deployment capacity, according to the authorities. Pérez Hernández also highlighted that at least 95% of the State Police units are in optimal condition, and underscored the commitment to continue working to ensure the safety of the population in the state of Querétaro.
