Government of Querétaro Implements New Measures for Bars

The government of Querétaro has implemented a new schedule supervision mechanism in the city's nightclubs to ensure compliance with safety standards and measures in these establishments. The Secretary of Government, Carlos Alcaraz, has highlighted the importance of operators, restaurateurs, and entrepreneurs taking responsibility in this matter, showing sensitivity towards the current situation.

Alcaraz Gutiérrez has made it clear that this measure is not merely about adhering to the current regulations, but about fulfilling the agreements established since last November, following an armed incident at Los Cantaritos. In this regard, it has been agreed that the owners of bars, clubs, and restaurants must constantly inform the authorities about client evacuations and the closure of their venues in real time.

A self-supervision strategy has been established to ensure compliance with the closing times of the establishments, seeking to maintain a balance between entertainment and public order in the city. Those establishments that do not comply with these measures could risk permanently losing their alcohol sales license and may even be subjected to additional inspections.

The secretary emphasized that there will be constant monitoring of the establishments and mentioned that those who do not send proof of their closure could be visited by the authorities. In this context, it was mentioned that The Normal bar, where a tragic armed incident recently occurred, will not be reopened, and procedures are underway to permanently revoke the permits of 72 locations for previous violations.

In summary, this new measure seeks to ensure a safe and orderly environment in the night establishments of Querétaro, emphasizing the importance of responsibility and commitment from entrepreneurs and operators in the restaurant and entertainment sector in the city.
