President Claudia Sheinbaum unveiled a national water plan with over 122 billion pesos in investments, while local deputies discuss its alignment with state needs.


New National Water Plan Announced in Querétaro

The governor of Querétaro announced a new plan to guarantee water supply in the metropolitan area for the next 100 years. In this context, several deputies expressed their willingness to review and support the proposal if it benefits the state.

The representative of the PT, Claudia Díaz Gayou, showed openness to evaluate the new proposal to understand its modifications and issue a statement regarding it, adding complementary aspects that are considered beneficial for the inhabitants of Querétaro.

In light of the investment of more than 122 billion pesos in the national water plan presented by President Claudia Sheinbaum, the importance of aligning this project with local initiatives to ensure its effectiveness was highlighted. The possibility of considering public-private partnerships for the financing of the Batán project was mentioned, as long as the terms and responsibilities of both parties are reviewed.

Deputy Eric Silva Hernández emphasized the need to understand the project in detail to provide water to the state and did not rule out visiting the State Water Commission to obtain relevant information. Edgar Inzunza Ballesteros, coordinator of the Morena bench, stated that his party will be open to reviewing the proposal and pointed out that the priority is to guarantee the water supply in the metropolitan area and the whole state.

In this regard, it is expected that the presented projects will receive the approval of the National Water Commission for their implementation. In this sense, the importance of finding comprehensive solutions to solve the complicated problem of water supply and ensure that no one in the metropolitan area is left without this vital resource was emphasized.
