The head of the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, revealed details about the attack that occurred last Saturday at the bar Los Cantaritos. Three individuals in a gray pick-up truck attacked the establishment around 9:20 p.m. One of them got out of the vehicle and asked for someone named Fernando, while the other two opened fire directly on a table, resulting in the death of 10 people on the spot.

Omar García Harfuch explained that a burned truck found later is being investigated in collaboration with the Attorney General's Office (FGR) and state police. According to Governor Mauricio Kuri, the massacre at Los Cantaritos would have occurred as retaliation from the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel against the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), following a prior attack by the latter on the former in a restaurant.

Fernando, also known as "La Flaca," has been identified as the main target of the attack, associated with criminal activities linked to fuel theft near San Juan del Río. The governor emphasized that a thorough review of nightlife venues will be conducted to prevent future incidents and assured that efforts will be intensified to capture those responsible. The tragedy has left a deep mark on the local community, and a firm commitment has been declared to end these violent actions in Querétaro.
