In the session of the LXI Legislature of Querétaro, an initiative was approved to apply the General Law of the System for the Career of Teachers in basic and higher secondary education. This proposal includes performance evaluations and recognitions for outstanding teachers, as part of the harmonization of federal laws in the regulations of Querétaro. Among those present were deputies Sinuhé Arturo Piedragil Ortiz and Edgar Inzunza Ballesteros, as well as former senator Beatriz Paredes, who participated as a guest of honor.
One of the highlighted points during the session was the installation of the Education and Culture Commission, led by deputy Paul Ospital Carrera of the PRI. This event was also attended by Cristina Cruz Cruz, coordinator of Educational Linkage from the SEP, and former senator Beatriz Paredes. During her intervention, Beatriz Paredes emphasized the importance of conducting aptitude diagnostics from junior high school to identify talents and areas of opportunity that boost student development.
In her words, the former senator mentioned that it is essential to cross-reference information about educational programs in order to provide better career guidance to young people before they start their university stage. Furthermore, she underlined the importance of linking the economic sector and education to achieve a balance between the job demand in the Querétaro region and the supply from universities.
Beatriz Paredes highlighted the importance of access to information for young people in choosing their career and suggested that educational institutions in Querétaro could provide career guidance using technology, such as creating vocational guidance applications for each degree.
