
In a special ceremony, para-athlete Octavio Romero Velázquez expressed his pride in representing Querétaro and taking its name to the top. He thanked for the support received and emphasized the importance of developing values such as perseverance and teamwork through sports.
The mayor of Querétaro, Felipe Fernando Macías, highlighted the role of sports as a symbol of hope in difficult times. He praised athletes as examples of overcoming challenges, emphasizing that with discipline and teamwork, great goals can be achieved.
The director of INDEREQ, Iridia Salazar Blanco, mentioned that the adapted sports of Querétaro had a high level of effectiveness in the medal count this year, achieving 97%. A total of 145 athletes participated in six disciplines, representing five municipalities in the state.
Governor Mauricio Kuri praised the results obtained by the athletes, highlighting the commitment and dedication shown. He emphasized initiatives to strengthen inclusive sports, such as state selection processes and the search for new talents in para-athletics.
The para-athletics coach, Osvaldo Luna Otero, thanked for the support for adapted sports and highlighted the talent present in Querétaro. It was noted that at the CONADE 2025 Paranationals, 170 medals were achieved, a record for the state and a fifth place in the national medal count, surpassing the results of previous editions.
