Destruction of Criminal Vehicles in Reynosa

The Attorney General's Office (FGR) carried out the destruction of 30 vehicles with homemade armor known as "monsters." These vehicles were seized during various confrontations in Tamaulipas and are presumed to have been used by different criminal groups.

According to a statement issued by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Regional Control (FECOR) in Tamaulipas, the action is related to 25 cases and took place at the facilities of the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Tamaulipas, located in the city of Reynosa. Present at the destruction event were Federal Public Ministry (MPF), official experts, and personnel from FGR's Internal Control Body, as well as representatives from the National Defense Secretariat.

During the proceedings, it was verified that the procedure was carried out in accordance with current regulations. The coordinated effort with the National Defense and State Guard was highlighted, who secured and made the vehicles available for destruction.

The destruction of these vehicles is part of the Program for the Destination of Assets and Objects of Crime, established in the National Code of Criminal Procedure, which provides for the elimination of items that have been used to commit crimes. The FGR thus complied with the provision to eliminate these vehicles that represented a tool for the commission of crimes in the region.
