Suspect in Official's Murder Arrested in Reynosa

The General Prosecutor's Office of Mexico City (Fiscalía CDMX) announced the apprehension of Ángel “N”, who is accused of being the material author and second implicated in the homicide of a 27-year-old public official who served as a regidor in Reynosa, Tamaulipas.

The events occurred on December 6, 2025, in a property located in the Colonia Tabacalera, in the Cuauhtémoc borough. The investigation, led by a Public Ministry agent with the support of the Investigative Police (PDI) and forensic personnel, allowed authorities to identify Ángel “N” and Yael “N” as the individuals who entered the property where the victim was killed.

Thanks to the analysis of surveillance cameras, witness interviews, and intelligence work, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspects. Ángel “N” was detained on April 9, 2026, in the municipality of Tecámac, State of Mexico, during an operation coordinated with the state prosecutor's office.

For these facts, he was linked to a process and a preventive prison order was issued for crimes against health and bribery. As the investigation progressed, he was also identified as a probable co-author of the homicide, which is why the arrest warrant was executed against him on April 9.

The Fiscalía CDMX emphasized that these actions seek to ensure that those responsible face justice and that impunity is avoided. Finally, it reminded that, in accordance with the presumption of innocence principle, both defendants will be considered innocent until a firm sentence is issued by the judicial authority.
