In Guanajuato, reporter and DJ Kristian Uriel Zavala, 28 years old, was shot dead along with another young man inside a vehicle in the municipality of Silao, Guanajuato. According to witness reports, armed men approached the car and fired repeatedly at the reporter and his companion before fleeing. After the attack, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed first against a brick wall and then against a tree.
The events occurred in the early minutes of this Sunday, March 2, 2025, on the Silao-Romita state highway, near the El Condado de La Pila housing development. According to the report from the Silao Citizen Security Secretariat, it was at 01:22 hours on March 2 that the report was attended to and near the aforementioned housing development, a 2024 red Nissan Sentra was found with bullet impacts on the windshield.
"Inside the vehicle, two young men were found with gunshot wounds and no vital signs," reported the Citizen Security Secretariat. The agency indicated that one of the victims was identified as Axel Jair ‘N’, 22 years old, and another young man who was accompanying him. "Hours later, the other young man was identified as Kristian ‘N’,” stated the Silao Citizen Security Secretariat through a statement.
It was learned that the two young men were returning from working at a party, as in his free time Kristian Uriel also worked as a DJ. The incident was reported to the State Attorney General's Office, which processed the scene through criminal investigation agents to gather evidence and begin investigations to clarify this double homicide. On the morning of this Sunday, the Guanajuato Attorney's Office said that only Axel Jair 'N' was identified, but family and friends of Kristian Uriel confirmed the reporter's death as one of the victims of the armed attack.
The government of Silao expressed its condolences to the families of the two murdered young men. Municipal authorities recognized that Kristian Uriel Zavala belonged to the community of communicators in Silao.
Kristian Uriel Zavala was the director of the news portal silaoense.mx and also collaborated with the Reporte Silao portal. In recent months, he had also been working as a DJ at events he hosted in the municipalities of Silao and Romita.
