Violent Brawl Erupts During Buen Fin Sales in Tehuacán

During Buen Fin 2024 in Puebla, the offers sparked fights among customers at a local Walmart, triggering a brawl over the purchase of a discounted LED television. In a viral video on social media, several people are shown physically and verbally assaulting each other to obtain one of the televisions on sale.

Eyewitnesses stated that the altercation began when two women argued over the last available flat-screen, and gradually more individuals joined the dispute. Despite shoves, elbows, and kicks, the municipal police of Tehuacán managed to control the situation without any injuries reported.

On the other hand, on the first day of Buen Fin, the Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco) received 44 complaints from dissatisfied customers, the majority coming from Mexico City, with six complaints. Walmart, Soriana, Liverpool, Bodega Aurrera, and Coppel were cited for non-compliance with offers and promotions, cancellations, and a lack of information about the products offered. The states of Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Chiapas, State of Mexico, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tabasco, Hidalgo, and Puebla also filed complaints, albeit to a lesser extent.
