Authorities of the Government of Claudia Sheinbaum in the border city of Tijuana, Mexico, are working on the establishment of a temporary shelter to receive Mexican migrants deported under the protocols established by the President of the United States, Donald Trump. The shelter is located on the upper floor of the shopping plaza known as Swap Meet Flamingos, about 15 kilometers from the San Ysidro International Port.

The governor of the state of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila, confirmed the completion of the work on the shelter, highlighting the implementation of the program 'Mexico Embraces You'. This strategy, promoted at the federal level by the President of Mexico, will be applied locally to assist the deported compatriot community in coordination with the municipalities of Mexicali and Tijuana.

The shelter in Tijuana will be managed by the head of the state Ministry of Environment, Mónica Vega. The importance of coordination with the federal government, the Ministry of the Interior, the National Institute of Migration, the Ministry of the Navy, and the National Guard was emphasized. So far, no atypical situations have occurred, and efforts will continue to assist migrants in a timely manner.

Regarding the support announced by President Sheinbaum, the state Secretary of Government mentioned that it will be managed by the federal Ministry of Welfare in cooperation with the INM. Support will be provided to deported Mexicans through various Migration and Welfare modules for delivery in Tijuana or their places of origin.

The Business Coordinating Council in Mexico offered 35,000 jobs to Mexicans deported by the Trump government in the United States. These vacancies will focus on the services and manufacturing sectors, among others. This announcement comes after the launch of the 'Mexico Embraces You' strategy, which seeks to reintegrate deported Mexicans through job offers, social programs, assistance for relocation in the country, and the 'Countryman Wellbeing Card' with 2,000 pesos.
