Since Jennifer disappeared, details have emerged about how the alleged kidnapper, identified as Óscar Avelino, manipulated the young woman into escaping with him. Messages were shown in which he instructed her to throw away her phone chip in a trash bin to avoid being tracked. The family indicated that Jennifer changed her behavior after interacting with Óscar, dropping out of school and following his instructions.

The Attorney General's Office of Baja California reported that the person responsible for Jennifer's disappearance was a friend and colleague of the young woman's father. The minor was last seen in Tijuana, and there are fears that she may become a victim of a crime. The suspect has been identified as a man over 33 years old, who is believed to have influenced the young woman due to his closeness to the family. Authorities are collaborating with agencies from other states and have issued an Amber Alert to locate Jennifer.

The case is being investigated as an enforced disappearance perpetrated by individuals, and relevant evidence has been gathered. Jennifer's family disseminated a message from the father pleading with the kidnapper to return his daughter.
