The Security Cabinet reported this Friday on the arrest of Saúl “N”, alias the “SS”, who allegedly served as the leader of the Beltrán Leyva criminal cell in Baja California, and is linked to drug trafficking to the United States. In a joint statement, it was reported that elements from the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), Navy (Semar), Attorney General's Office (FGR), National Guard (GN), and Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) arrested Saúl “N”, identified as the leader of a criminal cell, and his chief bodyguard in Tijuana, Baja California. The arrest was carried out thanks to surveillance and tracking actions in the region, which made it possible to identify a residence where Saúl “N” was hiding, leading to an intensification of operational actions in the area. After being intercepted and his identity verified, the “SS” was arrested along with a man accompanying him, identified as Horacio “N”, who was acting as his bodyguard. Firearms, drug doses, cell phones, and the property where they were hiding were also secured. The detainees were informed of their legal rights and, along with the seized items, were handed over to the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will define their legal situation and continue with subsequent investigations.
