Three women, all from the Costa region of Oaxaca, were attempting to cross the border into the United States when the incident occurred. One woman, from the community of Aguadulce in the municipality of San Pedro Jicayán, died. The Government of Oaxaca confirmed the facts through its Subsecretariat of Migration and Population and initiated the necessary procedures to repatriate the victim's body. The incident took place in the Otay Mesa area and was recorded in a video that went viral on social media. The other two women were injured but are in stable condition. The state government reported that the necessary documentation and procedures have been started to transport the body from Tijuana to Aguadulce. The Subsecretariat stated that it will maintain constant communication and coordination with the relevant authorities in both Oaxaca and the northern border to ensure all legal and humanitarian procedures are carried out correctly. Direct contact has been established with the families of those affected to provide them with support throughout the process.
