Emilio Macías in serious condition after goring

The bullfighter Emilio Macías is in serious condition after suffering a severe goring during a bullfight at the Jorge 'El Ranchero' Aguilar plaza in Tlaxcala, known as the Tacita de Plata. The incident occurred during the fight of the second bull of the afternoon, named Faraón. While preparing to deliver the final thrust, the 455-kilogram bull gored Macías on the leg, spun him around, and finally gored him in the rectum. The bull kept the bullfighter hanging for several seconds before releasing him, but also struck him on the head with its horn.

After the incident, Macías was transferred from Tlaxcala to Puebla, where he was stabilized for urgent surgery that lasted from 10:00 PM on Saturday until seven in the morning on Sunday. According to information from Mundotoro, the goring affected the base of the left gluteus, fractured the femur on that side, penetrated the rectum, and ended in the right hip.

The bullfighter will remain in the intensive care unit of the Puebla hospital, where he will be constantly evaluated to monitor his medical evolution and determine his health status.
