The members of the Coordination Table for the Construction of Peace expressed their support for the actions carried out under the 'Operation Atarraya' in the State of Mexico. Led by Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, this initiative is part of the work on security research and the prosecution of justice.

During the exchange of information in this mechanism, it was revealed that the properties seized in 20 municipalities had previous investigation files prior to the operations. From January 1, 2022, to February 6, 2025, there were 1,337 criminal activities recorded in barbershops, involved in crimes such as homicide, femicide, kidnapping, human trafficking, gender violence, among others.

The State Attorney's Office and other federal and state institutions collaborated in these actions. In response to social media accusations about the alleged planting of drugs during the operation on February 7, the State of Mexico Attorney's Office initiated an investigation to determine responsibilities.

As a precautionary measure, the Public Prosecutor's Agent and the Commander of the Investigation Police related to the action in Santiago Miltepec, Toluca, were removed from their positions. 'Operation Atarraya' began in December 2024 with the aim of intervening in establishments used by criminal groups for illegal activities such as extortion, human trafficking, or drug trafficking.

This operation is carried out jointly with the participation of various authorities, such as the Secretary of Citizen Security, the National Guard, the Secretary of National Defense, as well as the State Security Secretary and the Attorney's Office of the State of Mexico.
