In the early hours of May 3, Brandon Salvador “N”, alias “El Gastoncito”, presumed leader of the criminal organization “Los Gastones”, was captured by federal forces and the State of Mexico in the Bosques del Valle neighborhood. The joint operation involved the participation of various entities such as the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the prosecution office, and the national guard, as well as other local authorities.
Brandon Salvador “N” is identified as the successor to his father, Gastón “N”, and is accused of leading a criminal network with a presence in several municipalities of the State of Mexico and in the Tláhuac borough of Mexico City. Following his arrest, he was transferred to the Special Affairs Prosecutor's Office in Toluca to determine his legal status.
The criminal organization “Los Gastones” is believed to be linked to the Tláhuac Cartel, which allowed them to expand their influence in the region. The crimes attributed to them include extortion, drug dealing, floor charging, express kidnappings, homicides, and forced disappearances. They are associated with violent acts, including homicides recorded in Tláhuac and territorial conflicts in Mexico City.
The arrest of “El Gastoncito” was described by the Mexican prosecution as a heavy blow to organized crime in the Valley of Mexico. The capture took place with a search warrant at a residence located on Avenida de las Naciones during the implementation of the National Public Security Strategy 2024-2030.
It has been reported that the criminal organization has had confrontations with rival groups, such as La Familia Michoacana. In the operation, suspected cocaine, marijuana, cash, a useful cartridge, a laptop, and a mobile phone were secured.
