Recovery of Illegally Occupied Properties in Toluca

During Saturday and Sunday, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM), with the support of federal and municipal authorities, recovered 15 properties in the municipalities of Toluca, Acolman, Tecámac, and Nezahualcóyotl. These properties were under the control of individuals who illegally appropriated them, and a man was also arrested who had several doses of drugs.

In the actions taken over the weekend, operations were carried out in the San Diego Linares neighborhood of Toluca, where five properties were recovered. During the operation, an individual identified as Miguel “N”, 46 years old, was arrested for having narcotic packages in his possession. For this reason, he was taken to the Public Prosecutor's Office for crimes against health. Nevertheless, the investigation will continue to determine his possible involvement in other crimes.

Authorities from the three levels of government secured four properties in Tecámac and four more in Acolman, which were apparently occupied illegally. In Nezahualcóyotl, two more properties were located that were occupied by people who had no authorization from the owners, so they were recovered. Once the legal situation of the buildings is determined, they will be returned to their owners.

"The actions carried out during April and May by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico, together with federal and state authorities, as well as those from the municipalities of Acolman, Chalco, Chicoloapan, Ecatepec, La Paz, Naucalpan, Nezahualcóyotl, Nextlalpan, Tecámac, Toluca, and Zumpango, have resulted in the recovery of 154 properties that were in a situation of dispossession or crimes against property and possession."

In these actions, led by the Special Unit for the Investigation of Crimes of Dispossession and Against Property and Property Possession, the Secretary of National Defense (Defensa), National Guard (GN), Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico (SSEM), and authorities from the municipalities participate.
