Dulha Utrera, the mother of Lucio David, the young man who abandoned his newborn son on the streets of Tultitlán, State of Mexico, clarified that she does not have custody of the baby, denying the information that was spread on social media along with a supposed photograph of her carrying the minor.
In a statement during an interview, Utrera mentioned that the DIF of Tultitlán is the agency currently safeguarding her grandson. However, she emphasized that she will seek custody legally when appropriate.
For her part, she requested that the false photograph in which she apparently carries the baby not be shared further, in order to prevent the spread of incorrect information.
The baby continues to receive medical attention at the “Bicentennial of Independence” Regional High Specialty Hospital that belongs to ISSSTE. After eight days of hospitalization, it was reported that his vital signs are stable and his overall health is good, showing the ability to tolerate oral feeding with formula, without evidence of fever or other signs of infection.
The medical report states that the newborn has normal temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate, a stable neurological condition, complete primary reflexes, a structurally healthy heart, and normal bilateral hearing, as detailed by ISSSTE.
