Context of the crime Mayor Carlos Manzo was assassinated on November 1, 2025, in the heart of Uruapan, during a public celebration known as the Festival of the Candles. At that moment, while mingling with the community, he was shot, which caused a strong social reaction and demands for immediate justice from citizens and local leaders.
