Executives from companies such as TenarisTamsa and SLB Mexico highlighted the advantages of Veracruz as an investment destination, emphasizing its potential and natural resources.
The governor of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle García, highlighted the strategic location of the state and its skilled workforce, describing it as a key place for economic development. Altagracia Gómez Sierra, coordinator of the Regional Economic Development and Relocation Advisory Council, emphasized the importance of the Interoceanic Corridor as a crucial project for southern-southeastern Mexico.
The Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec was one of the central topics of the forum, highlighting its goal of connecting the Atlantic with the Pacific and turning the region into a world-class logistics hub. Rear Admiral Alfonso Fabián González Belmonte presented the advancements and expectations of this megaproject, underscoring the importance of coordination between governments and companies for its success.
Susan Segal, president and CEO of the Council of the Americas (COA), stressed the importance of maintaining focus on southern Mexico despite global tensions, while Sergio de la Maza from TenarisTamsa and Laura Ripani from the BID Group in Mexico highlighted the combination of resources and the need to strengthen workforce training and logistics in the region.
At the closing of the forum, the importance of transforming optimism into concrete action was emphasized, especially through education and training. Andrea Genoveva Solano Rendón from the Ministry of Economy outlined the investment landscape in the southern-southeastern region, highlighting the relevance of looking beyond the Interoceanic Corridor to drive economic development in the area.
