In Veracruz, President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that the city has "resisted invasions and defended sovereignty." She emphasized that "the use of force does not prevail, nor does those who seek external support without having internal backing." Sheinbaum highlighted the work of the Navy and the Army in security, emergencies, and strategic projects. On November 23rd, during a visit to Veracruz, the president called on the country to remain "alert" to any attempts of foreign interference, which she said could be backed by conservative groups. "When the love for the people and reason unite, the call for interference weakens," she declared while leading the ceremony for the Bicentennial of the Consolidation of Independence. Sheinbaum recalled the 1825 event when the Spanish garrison of San Juan de UlĂșa surrendered to republican forces, consolidating Independence. "Our Armed Forces build peace and justice alongside their people," she said. In closing, she insisted on the permanent defense of sovereignty, stating, "We are called to defend our independence, justice, and freedom," and rallying, "Long live a free, independent, and sovereign Mexico!"
