The Secretariat of the Navy announced the opening of its 2026 call for admission to the Naval University, through a selection process aimed at young Mexicans interested in pursuing engineering degrees, bachelor's degrees, and professional technical programs under an academic training and military discipline scheme. The online registration period will be open from December 15, 2025, to March 9, 2026, and represents the first step to access a full scholarship that covers accommodation, food, studies, uniforms, and medical services, as part of the Mexican Navy's educational regime. Admission to the Naval University allows applicants to train within a militarized educational model, with standards of academic, physical, and ethical excellence, oriented towards the training of officers and technicians in the service of the Mexican state. Those who overcome the initial stages of the process must travel to Veracruz, where the naval facilities are located for the final in-person phase, including the Heroic Naval Military School, the main evaluation headquarters. The admission process to the Naval University consists of five eliminatory stages: online registration on the official platform; CENEVAL academic exam, applied online; physical tests, including swimming and resistance, in Veracruz; medical and psychological evaluation, by naval personnel; publication of results and official presentation, in August 2026. During their training, cadets receive a student recreational pension. Upon graduating, they access salaries according to their military rank, including: Midshipman (graduate): $18,000 to $22,000 pesos monthly; Lieutenant: $25,000 to $30,000 pesos monthly; Captain: earnings superior to $50,000 pesos, according to seniority. This is added to institutional benefits, such as family medical service, housing fund, and paid vacations. The Secretariat of the Navy warned that the process is strictly monitored. Immediate disqualification causes include: falsification of school documents; failing swimming tests; prohibited tattoos; tardiness in evaluations; substance use, detected through toxicological tests. The naval authorities reminded that all official information is available on the Naval University platform.
