Tragic Death of a Boy Sparks Anti-Bullying Protests

A seven-year-old boy, identified as Juan “N”, took his life on Thursday in the community of Ayehualulco, Zacatlán, Puebla. The family indicated that he was a victim of bullying at the “Narcizo Mendoza” primary school, where his classmates assaulted him. A protest demanding justice took place this Friday.

Friends and family of Juanito went to the institution to ask for an investigation into the case and to clarify responsibilities, pointing to a teacher as a suspected instigator of the situation.

The Zacatlán city council expressed its deep sadness over the boy's death and offered support to the affected family. After receiving the emergency call on February 6, the Lightning Group of Civil Protection and Firefighters went to the scene to provide assistance.

Mayor Beatriz Sánchez Galindo regretted the incident through her social media and called for reflection on the importance of providing emotional support to children. She highlighted the need for a safe family environment for children's emotional development and encouraged reaching out to the municipal DIF in cases of need for emotional help.
