The municipal president of Zapopan, Juan José Frangie, has highlighted the financial health of the municipality, becoming a national reference. According to Marcela Rubí Gómez Juárez, director of Revenues of the City Council, there has been a 14% increase in collection so far this year. This has led to the implementation of an initiative aimed at easing the economic burden on citizens and promoting tax compliance.
The applicable discounts from November 11 to December 20, 2024, target municipal fines and surcharges on property tax. These benefits extend to various services, such as municipal water, market permits, cemetery maintenance, parking, and regularization agreements for subdivisions, offering a 75% discount for those who choose direct payment at municipal collection centers. Additionally, those who fully pay regulatory fines before December 31, 2023, will also receive a reduction of up to 75% on surcharges.
The municipal treasurer, Adriana Romo López, has emphasized the importance of these incentives to strengthen the municipality's finances and improve public services. The discount campaign, valid until December 20, aims to encourage taxpayers to regularize their debts, also taking advantage of the Buen Fin period. The mayor has pointed out that thanks to these measures, it is possible to carry out public works and social programs that benefit the residents of Zapopan.
To facilitate the payment process, various options have been made available, both online (through the property app, QR code, ChatBot, and CoDi) and at convenience stores and bank counters. This provides taxpayers the opportunity to fulfill their tax obligations more accessibly and conveniently.
