Workers of the Federal Judiciary (PJF) and Section 20 of the union in Zapopan are on strike in protest against the Judicial Reform. During the strike, they detained the presiding magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice of the State of Jalisco (STJEJ), Daniel Espinosa Licón, to seek his support for their cause.
The workers took advantage of the magistrate's presence at an event in the state Judicial City auditorium in Zapopan to request to speak before the judges and magistrates present. They expressed: "We ask you judges, magistrates, counselors to join the fight for our state, for our country, and for our children. The judiciary is standing strong."
For his part, the presiding magistrate of the STJEJ, Espinosa Licón, committed to work on a resource this week to challenge the judicial reform. The workers of the Federal Judiciary in Jalisco have been on strike for nearly two months and currently only handle urgent cases, such as danger to life, deprivation of possessions, danger to liberty or health.
