The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office rescued 24 bodies from a clandestine grave located in Salto Colorado, in Zapopan. Workers from the Search Commission, Zapopan police, and the public ministry, as well as family members of the missing, collaborated at the site.
According to the prosecutor's office, investigations are ongoing to determine criminal responsibilities and the identity of the people buried in the clandestine grave.
The discovery of the bodies occurred on December 13 when a worker operating heavy machinery found black bags containing human remains in the Lomas del Refugio neighborhood in Zapopan. Authorities were immediately notified to begin forensic work.
