According to an analysis, the use of dating apps to connect with foreigners has increased in Mexico, driven by the growing influence of Western culture and globalization. This phenomenon has emerged from the desire to explore new cultures and improve language skills.

Carlos Ramírez, founder of Your Mexican Friend, expressed that there is considerable interest from foreigners in pairing up with Mexicans. He highlighted that dating apps are not only used to establish romantic relationships but also as spaces for cultural exchange and language practice. Approximately 22.6% of Mexican internet users have an active account on dating apps, and 77% of millennials aged 25 to 34 prefer to match with bilingual people.

Ramírez mentioned that while the apps provide an informal environment to practice languages, it is essential to complement the experience with guided classes to achieve fluency. He emphasized that classes taught by professionals offer the necessary structure to improve grammar, vocabulary, and cultural understanding, facilitating more enriching interactions.

Dating apps are a popular tool in Mexico, and according to the site Neubox, the five best are: Bumble, where women make the first move; Tinder, the most popular globally; Badoo, which offers similar features to its competitors in addition to sharing photos; Facebook Dating, one of the few without a premium payment mode; and Boo, which uses psychology techniques to build profiles.
