During the past year, the industrial sector of Nuevo León consolidated itself as the most important in the country, generating 22,441 new jobs compared to the end of 2023, while at the national level, the sector reported fewer positions than a year ago, according to Caintra.
In the words of the business organization, "The results of job creation in the manufacturing sector of Nuevo León during 2024 reaffirm us as the main industrial center of the country, generating more jobs than the rest of the national sector in 2024."
It detailed that the industry of the State closed the past year with the creation of 22,441 new jobs; while, at the national level, excluding Nuevo León, there was a drop of 12,314 positions.
According to figures from IMSS, the manufacturing sector of Nuevo León surpassed other manufacturing entities in job creation. For example, in the State of Mexico, only 9,664 were generated, in Jalisco 2,862, and in Coahuila 549 new positions, while Nuevo León generated more jobs than all these entities combined.
In the words of Caintra, "The generation of jobs in the state's manufacturing sector is a result of the competitiveness and business ecosystem that characterizes the large, medium, small, and micro enterprises of Nuevo León."
To continue strengthening this growth during 2025, it noted that it is necessary to facilitate hiring and the development of skills in workers, considering schemes to promote technical education such as the dual model or training programs as a priority for this year.
