Edomex Consolidates as National Economic Leader

The State of Mexico is solidifying its position as a national economic leader with a record growth of 12.7% in new economic units, resulting in the creation of 79,000 new formal jobs, according to the 2024 Economic Censuses by INEGI.

In a remarkable achievement, the administration of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez has fostered the creation of around 130,000 new businesses, reaching the highest employment increase in the last four national censuses. This result significantly surpasses key entities such as Jalisco, Nuevo León, and Querétaro.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Laura González Hernández, emphasized that this success is the result of public policies focused on incentivizing investment, strengthening SMEs, and creating a competitive environment that boosts business growth, in line with the Economic Development Plan 2023-2029.

The State of Mexico is consolidating itself as an economic engine, where trade and services represent 89% of the growth, with the manufacturing sector responsible for employing 20% of the active population. This progress not only strengthens the state economy but also positively impacts the quality of life of families in Mexico by creating formal jobs and stable job opportunities.

To ensure long-term leadership, the state government is promoting strategic projects such as logistics and economic corridors, attracting foreign direct investment, and developing emerging sectors like technology and energy. In this way, the State of Mexico is established as a national and international benchmark in competitiveness and development.
