Investments in Mexico 2025: Real Factors and Non-Inflation

Investment trends in 2025 will be determined mainly by real factors and not by inflation. Inflation does not stand out as a limiting factor for economic growth in the coming years. Everardo Elizondo, former deputy governor of the Bank of Mexico, mentioned that investment has been disconnected from the trajectory of inflation and emphasizes the importance of having a reference framework that, while it does not guarantee results, at least reduces uncertainty.

Elizondo pointed out that instead of decreasing, uncertainty has been increasing, which has impacted investment growth. Regarding the destination of Mexican exports and foreign investments in the country, the expert ruled out significant changes in the current proportion of 80% directed towards the United States.

In relation to this topic, Elizondo expressed that the problems and opportunities for Mexico are closely linked to the economy and politics of the United States, and that this situation is not expected to change in the near future. His statements took place during his participation in the event "Economic and Political Outlook of Mexico 2025" organized by the EGADE Business School of Tecnológico de Monterrey.
