Economic Growth in Nuevo León Exceeds National Average

In the last five years, Nuevo León has experienced a 16% growth in commercial establishments, surpassing the national rate of 10.7%. This indicates a significant boost in its economy and commercial development.

During the period from 2019 to 2024, Nuevo León experienced a remarkable growth of commercial establishments, surpassing the national rate, according to an analysis by Coparmex based on data from the 2024 Economic Census of Inegi. While the national growth was 10.7%, in Nuevo León it was 16%.

Last year, Nuevo León recorded a total of 209,041 establishments, compared to 180,143 in 2019. The sector of non-financial private services showed the most growth, with an increase of 37.2% in new establishments.

The manufacturing segment concluded last year with 16,960 establishments, the commercial sector with 83,598, non-financial private services with 102,316, and other productive activities with 6,167. Nationally, there were 7,056,499 establishments recorded in 2024, compared to 6,373,169 in 2019.

Nuevo León ranked as the eleventh state with the most recorded establishments, representing 3% of the total. The leading states in this classification were the State of Mexico, Veracruz, Puebla, Mexico City, Jalisco, and Oaxaca, among others.

The manufacturing industry was identified as the economic activity that generates the most wealth in Nuevo León, showing a growth of 15.3% in the number of establishments dedicated to this area from 2019 to 2024. This rate exceeded the national average, which was 9.1%, accounting for 802,564 establishments in the same period.
