Nintendo has announced an increase in the cost of its Nintendo Switch Online subscription in Mexico effective March 1, 2025, sparking reactions from gamers on social media.

Nintendo Raises Subscription Prices in Mexico

Nintendo has informed its users about a 200 peso increase in the price of the individual subscription to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. Automatic renewal will be processed at the new price, and users have been advised to manage their subscriptions through their Nintendo account or the Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo Switch console.

In response to this news, several gamers have expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, generating numerous comments, complaints, and even memes related to the measure. Some believe that the service does not offer enough benefits to justify the increase, while others understand the necessity of the price adjustment.

Nintendo has defended its decision, stating that the increase is necessary to improve the user experience. Although it has not been confirmed whether the change will only affect gamers in Mexico, it has been noted that the deactivation of automatic renewal is possible at any time, as long as it is done at least 48 hours before the end of the current subscription period.

The new price of the individual subscription will be 1,199 Mexican pesos, compared to the current 999 pesos. This adjustment will take effect from March 1, 2025, and will be automatically applied to the renewal of the subscription from that date. Users have received email notifications about this change in prices.
