The opening of the cloud region in Mexico adds to the recent initiatives by U.S. companies Microsoft and Google, as well as the more recent one by Amazon, which invested around 2 billion dollars in opening its cloud region in Queretaro. Alibaba Cloud plans to invest an additional 4 billion pesos over the next 8 years to train in technology and establish Mexico as a data center hub in Latin America.
