New Agreement on Gasoline Prices in Mexico

This Thursday, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, met with businesspeople from the gasoline sector to sign a historic agreement that formalizes the maximum price of Magna gasoline at 24 pesos per liter starting February 27, 2025. The main objective of this agreement is to protect the economy of Mexican families.

For now, it has not been revealed which gas stations will be included in this voluntary agreement that seeks to ensure a fair price for consumers. If any service station fails to comply with this provision, consumers can report and denounce these establishments to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco).

Before this agreement, the Profeco Verification Subprocuracy was already responsible for supervising establishments that sell fuel to the public throughout the country. If necessary, consumers can file their complaints by sending an email to denunciasgasolina@profeco.gob.mx. Additionally, there is the option to call the consumer telephone number (55 5568 8722) or visit the Consumer Defense Offices in Mexico directly.

In the words of President Sheinbaum Pardo: "We protect the economy of families". This agreement seeks to guarantee an accessible price for Magna gasoline and sanction those establishments that do not comply with the stipulated terms.
