AIFA: The Best Airport in Mexico

The architect Diego de León, also known as Juve3dstudio, stated that the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) is the best airport in Mexico at present. He highlighted that, from his perspective as an architect and consumer, it is the best option, especially if one is not traveling to Mexico City.

De León mentioned that, while the Benito Juárez International Airport (AICM) is more practical for direct access to the capital, the AIFA is an excellent alternative for layovers or transfers due to the quality and cleanliness of its facilities compared to the AICM. He also emphasized the functionality and aesthetics of the AIFA, specifically mentioning the themes present in its restrooms, which have been enjoyed by people of different nationalities.

The architect underscored the efficiency and comfort of the AIFA for passengers, highlighting the area designated for children, the speed of the documentation and boarding processes, as well as the clear signage for boarding gates. Furthermore, he mentioned the importance of details such as the indication of parking spaces and instructions for users, which enhance the travel experience from their arrival at the airport.

Although one of the recurring criticisms of the AIFA is the distance and lack of direct connections to Mexico City, De León positively pointed out the improvements in public transportation such as the Suburban Train that will connect the airport to Buenavista in less than 40 minutes. Despite these challenges, the architect emphasized the quality of the facilities, operational efficiency, and streamlined processes that make the AIFA stand out as the best airport in Mexico in his personal and professional experience.
