New President of Canaco Monterrey Takes Office

Governor Samuel García led the oath-taking ceremony of the new president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Monterrey (Canaco), Jaime Herrera Casso, as well as the Board of Directors for 2025-2026. During the event, the governor expressed his commitment to strengthening the economy through a plan that includes support and simplification of processes for the business sector.

In his statements, García emphasized the importance of streamlining environmental permits and simplifying tax procedures to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Additionally, he highlighted the initiative to promote the Made in Nuevo León Program and the internal market, as well as strengthen the technology and service sectors through the New León Passport application.

Jaime Herrera Casso, who succeeds Fernando Canales Stelzer as president of Canaco, pointed out the importance of maintaining a productive relationship with authorities and organizations involved in promoting trade and seeking effective solutions. He emphasized the commitment to continue promoting the well-being of employees in the commercial, services, and tourism sectors.

As part of the event, a keynote conference titled “The Revolution of Artificial Intelligence: Opportunity for Trade” was held, led by a digital transformation specialist, and the 2024 Activity Report was presented. Annually, during the month of March, the Board of Directors of Canaco is elected by the General Assembly of Members, with the participation of representatives from various sectors covered by the chamber.
