The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda, reported on the construction of the new Gloria-Colombia highway. This road, made with sustainable materials, offers a direct connection with Texas by linking to the new Colombia Laredo Customs. Additionally, it is monitored 24/7 by the Civil Force.
The highway extends 102 kilometers and required an investment of 5 billion pesos. It is notable for being the fastest, safest, and free route in the state, allowing for a direct connection with the United States. Samuel García mentioned that this road facilitates the export of energy, oil, and other products between Mexico and Texas.
Regarding its construction, the highway consists of three stages, with the first two already completed. The third stage is in progress, and only two interchanges are left to be finished, expected to be ready by October of this year. Concerning security, García emphasized that the highway is protected 24 hours a day, with Civil Force detachments at each entrance and exit, ensuring the safety of users.
So far, the flow of vehicles on this highway has increased by 30%, projected to reach 200% by the year 2030. The governor highlighted the importance of this new infrastructure, mentioning that no new highway had been built in Nuevo León for more than 40 years. In addition to Gloria-Colombia, the current administration has worked on constructing other roads such as Uno Norte, the new Periférico, the Highway to the Airport, and the Interserrana Highway.
Emphasizing international collaboration, García pointed out that the Secretary of Economy, Emmanuel Loo, returned from a trip to Austin with positive feedback from Texas businesspeople and citizens about the importance of working together with Nuevo León and Mexico on infrastructure projects.
