
The Tax Administration Service (SAT) announced that it will extend its hours of operation for those wishing to file their annual return for the 2024 tax year. From Monday, April 21, to Wednesday, April 30, the final days for individuals to file their annual return, SAT will extend its service hours from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. This measure applies to the 161 offices across the country, with the aim of ensuring that all taxpayers comply with their annual returns and avoid penalties.
"The SAT continues to implement technological improvements and create tools to facilitate voluntary compliance with tax obligations for contributors," said the institution in a statement prior to the Easter break for students and workers. SAT also mentioned that for more information regarding tax declarations, taxpayers can contact the institution through various means, such as MarcaSAT, one-on-one chat, OrientaSAT, and the Virtual Office with a prior registered appointment.
Regarding individuals required to file the annual return with SAT based on their regime, it includes those who receive income from salaries and wages. If they worked for a single employer and ceased employment before December 31, if they received income other than salaries, if they worked for two or more employers simultaneously, if their salaries come from abroad or from individuals not required to withhold, if they received indemnity income, if pension income exceeds a certain amount, and if total annual income from this concept exceeds 400,000 pesos. Those who earn income from professional services or conduct business activities must also file the annual return.
