Banco Plata Receives Authorization and New Leaders

A large-scale hydrocarbon theft that has spread beyond the borders of Mexico has been uncovered by authorities. It has been revealed that James Lael Jensen, along with his wife Kelly Anne Jensen and their children Maxwell and Zachary, are involved in a scheme to smuggle thousands of shipments of hydrocarbons in collaboration with Mexican criminal organizations. The Jensens are suspected of transporting this fuel back to Mexico, making it pass as various products to evade detection.

In the process of fuel theft and smuggling, the company Marinsa has also been indicated for participating in these illicit activities. This crime has raised concerns among several companies in the hydrocarbon sector in northeastern Mexico and Texas, especially following the Jensens' arrests in Utah and Texas. Authorities have confiscated assets from the Jensens worth 300 million dollars and are conducting a thorough investigation that could involve more individuals and companies in both countries.

Meanwhile, in the financial sector, the new Banco Plata is preparing to start operations, having already received the first of the two necessary authorizations to operate as a multiple banking institution. With Bernardo González Rosas as the Chairman of the Board, the bank is poised to meet all legal requirements and begin operations during this year, under the direction of Neri Tollardo, an experienced co-founder of the bank.

In another area, during the Tianguis Turístico, there were various criticisms regarding the lack of concrete proposals to strengthen the promotion of tourism in Mexico through budgetary resources. Despite expectations and proposals from various sectors, authorities have not presented clear measures in this regard, raising concerns about the goal of positioning Mexico as one of the most visited tourist destinations globally.
