Banks play a crucial role in the financial system, and it is essential to improve credit granting processes to increase their efficiency. This was highlighted by Andrés Rodríguez Ledermann, general director of Ualá Mexico, who pointed out that technology will be key to overcoming various barriers in this area.
Rodríguez Ledermann emphasized the importance of expanding access for the Mexican population to credit products, as although the current penetration slightly exceeds 35 percent, it remains low compared to other countries in the region. In this regard, the use of more robust data analysis plays a crucial role by providing greater information about users and facilitating efficiency in credit granting while managing associated risks.
"We believe that as we obtain more information, and increase our customer base, we develop our own scoring system that allows us to evaluate transactional behavior," Rodríguez Ledermann highlighted before the 88th Banking Convention. This strategy is crucial, especially in a market like the Mexican one that has faced challenges regarding credit quality.
