According to Representative Perla Patricia Flores Suárez, from the PVEM, in 2024, 18 billion dollars were exported, with 80% destined for the United States. This figure represents institutional and political support to protect employment, investment, and competitiveness for both Querétaro and Mexico.
Vice President and independent representative Ulises Gómez de la Rosa, along with PAN representative Mauricio Cárdenas Palacios, emphasized the importance of working together, preparing more collaborative projects for the benefit of citizens. From the local Congress, support was expressed for the foreign policy of President Claudia Sheinbaum in the face of tariff threats, requesting to continue protecting the industrial, agricultural, commercial, and key business sectors for the financial stability of the state.
Gerardo Ángeles Herrera, president of the Board of Directors, emphasized that this initiative of exhortation, presented by representatives from different parties (PAN, PVEM, and Independents), recognizes the successes of the president in her management. It was highlighted that beyond party affiliations, Sheinbaum's good performance in negotiations for Mexico is recognized, something that Querétaro supports.
It was argued that Querétaro is not only a historical and cultural bastion but also a fundamental player in the national economy, becoming a center of innovation and development, especially in sectors such as automotive, technology, electronics, and logistics. Imposing tariffs would negatively affect the state economy due to its first-class infrastructure and its favorable ecosystem for national and international investments, attracting high-tech companies.
